Adaptation of the William Inge play about a pathetic saloon singer who takes off for L.A. but is pursued by a lovesick Montana cowboy, who kidnaps her to bring her back to his hometown. As the cowboy, Don Murray was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar.
