When Jumba creates a creature whose only purpose is to destroy, his planet's leader orders him to destroy the animal before it can do any harm. However, the beast has a mind of its own and escapes before the sentence can be carried out. Landing on Earth, he meets Lilo, a young girl dealing with the recent loss of her parents. A hiding spot at first, he becomes attached to Lilo, who has named him Stitch and uses his genetically-created skills to protect her when Jumba comes to collect him.
